Name: Sarah Elizabeth
Alias: hobbitknitter
Birthday: October 23, 1988
Occupation: College student (currently pursing a BA in music)
I’m a mainly self-taught textile artist, beginning my ventures into the world of fiber by teaching myself to weave on a tapestry loom when I was 10. I quickly became very interested in textile arts as a whole, and took up sewing and embroidery. When I was 11 I taught myself to knit. I started handspinning and dyeing yarn at age 15, and learned to use a drumcarder shortly later.
I’ve dabbled in knitting design (check out my free patterns on my blog!) and have plans to publish more patterns in the future.
My other interests include classical music, piano, languages (especially latin and greek), tennis, and gardening.
I’m also an avid reader. Not surprisingly given my alias, my favorite author is Tolkien!
I’m on some of the knitting forums and on ravelry, feel free to friend me or drop me a line!
Thanks for visiting!
