Thing One:

I finished my Amy Butler skirt. I love it! Except…

The ruffle makes it look like a curtain. I’ve decided to cut it off and replace it with a less ruffly (perhaps straight) black cotton lawn border, maybe with some light blue 1/4″ ribbon sewn along the edge.

Thing Two:

I finally started the second sleeve of my sweater! Go me!!!

Thing Three:

The yellow roses from my garden are the most beautiful in the world. :)

there’s a fine line between creativity and insanity

I was recently on etsy browsing the absolutely amazing things people make there, and stumbled on a bunch of keychains. They were amazing keychains- so inspiring! So I decided that I really ought to knit one.

But there was a problem- I wanted it to be something different, new, innovative, and there’s not really that much that hasn’t been done knitwise anymore! Mini-sweaters, mini-socks, mini-various-other-articles-of-clothing have already been done. Soo.. what should I do?

I decided to take a look at my own finished projects for inspiration. And then it hit me like a brick! Of course, I knew the perfect thing to knit for a keychain- and as a bonus, it is something that I can be fairly certain has never been applied to a keychain before!

Why yes Ma’am, that is a dishcloth hanging from my keychain…

Innovative or not, it definitely makes me smile.

long time no post

July 3, 2007 · 1 Comment

Sorry for my un-posty-ness. I’ve been enjoying the summer- playing a lot of tennis, swimming, reading, playing piano, and getting ready for college (which starts next month! omg!), but haven’t done a ton of fiberly things to post about! Hopefully that will change this week- Wimbledon is on, which is, of course, the most prime knitting time of the entire year.

Thanks for all of the great comments! Hoping to have some finished projects to show you soon. :)
